Cromby’s career continues a steep upward trajectory; the Berlin based, Irish DJ and producer has earned a reputation for infectious productions and expertly curated sets at major festivals or during extended plays at proper clubs. Over the years, he has performed all over the world at esteemed venues such as Robert Johnson, The Warehouse Project, Fabric London, Pitch Music & Arts Festival, Boiler Room and Berlin’s Panorama Bar, where he’s been tasked with handling the infamous closing set on numerous occasions, a testament to his selector skills and the depth of his record collection. Cromby’s early career was shaped by a six-year residency at Shine in Belfast, where he developed his distinctive style behind the decks. His production debut came in 2012 on New York’s The Love Revolution, followed by two releases on Berlin’s Tenderpark label. After relocating to Berlin via London, he gained momentum with standout releases on influential labels like Sulta Selects, Feel My Bicep, and Unknown To The Unknown.
The following years saw Cromby expand his creative output with a monthly radio show on Refuge Worldwide and releases on key labels such as Rekids and Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound. His Qué Sientes EP featuring vocalist Tee Amara and its follow-up, Loving, received critical acclaim, with the latter earning a spot as a DJ Mag Staff Pick and recognised as a best release of the month by Resident Advisor. With five successful releases to date; Cromby’s own Potency imprint, launched in 2020 as a platform to explore different realms of house, techno, and acid. Combining old school rhythms with new school flavours, the debut release Potency 001 was led by Shake It, which quickly became a fan favorite, even in the absence of dancefloors. When a nomination came for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at DJ Mag’s Best Of 2020 Awards, it came as little surprise to those in the know. His worldwide tours on the strength of these releases included appearances at Solomun’s annual Diynamic Festival at Finsbury Park London and a slot at the DJ’s coveted +1 residency at Pacha Ibiza; Klymax at Potato Head Bali, Nachtiville Festival, Basement and Nowadays in NYC, Into The Woods Festival Amsterdam, a debut on the legendary Club Space Miami terrace and a series of events at Oxi Open Air Berlin for which he curated the lineups. In 2024, Cromby’s House Flava EP on Sally C’s Big Saldo’s Chunkers marked a career highlight, earning a nomination for DJ Mag’s Best Track of the Year. In the year ahead, the release of his highly anticipated debut EP on DJ Tennis’s Life & Death, as well as music by other artists alongside his own productions on Potency will continue to cement him as a key figure in the global electronic scene.
